Inactivation of Enzymes in an Aqueous Solution by Micro Dioxide - bubbles of Supercritical Carbon

Enzyme solutiens of glucoamylase, acid protease, alkaline protease and lipase were treated with micro-bubbles otsupercritical carbon dioxide (SC CO,) fed from a cylindrical filter nozzle. The microbllbbles of SC C02 could increase the CO, concentration in the sample solution from O.4 to O.92molfl at 25 MPa and 350C, and hence could improye the eMciency of inactiyation by about 3 times compared to treating without the filter nozzle. Alkaline protease and lipase in the solution could be completely inactiyated by the treatment at 350C and 15 MPa for 30 min. With the inactivation of glueoamylase and acid protease, their residual activity-CO, density profiles consisted of two straight llnes with intersections at density values of O.82 and O.60glcm3, respectiyely. These enzymes showed an abrupt decrease in actiyation in regions above the C02 density of their intersections.
